Power Generators

Power generators are typically run on gasoline. However, this is not the only type of generator on the market. Propane, natural gas and diesel gasoline variations are also available.

For large industrial power generators, gasoline is rarely used. Gasoline has a half-life that makes it less effective and actually causes the generator engine to fail. Because of this, large institutions such as hospitals and universities normally use propane or natural gas.

If you have power generators that are designed to run on gasoline but you want to switch to propane or natural gas, there are adaptor kits available. In some cases, these adaptors can allow your generator to operate on more than one type of fuel. This can be a real advantage during an emergency, when the supply of any of these fuels can be disrupted.
